What is Aikido?

Aikido is a modern Japanese martial art, developed by Morihei Ueshiba as a form of self defence that would not injure the attacker. Hence its use by the Tokyo riot police.

Who are Harlow Aikido?

Training in various arts our instructors have over 30 years of experience in teaching Aikido, Judo and Karate amongst other styles. Led by Roger Evans (4th Dan Aikido 1st Dan Judo) & Andy Garner (2nd Dan Aikido 1st Dan Karate)

What does it cost?

Each 2 hour session costs £6, Insurance per year is £20 (£25 for the first year) A Gi (Traditional clothing for Aikido, Judo & Jiu-Jitsu) costs around £40. For the first few lessons sports attire is acceptable.

Can my child take up aikido

Aikido implements a large amount of joint locks and restraints as such these have to be adapted for students under the age of 18 but yes it can still be taught to juniors at the instructors discretion.
